World Health Day: Ebonyi First Lady Advocates Science-Driven Healthcare


The Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru, has called for greater unity, collaboration, and trust in science as the world commemorates this year’s World Health Day.

In a message to mark the occasion, themed “Together for Health: Stand with Science,” the First Lady stressed the importance of embracing scientific advancements in building healthier and more resilient societies.

“Today, we join the global community to commemorate World Health Day. The theme reminds us of the importance of unity, collaboration, and trust in scientific advancements in building healthier societies,” she stated.

Mrs. Nwifuru reaffirmed the commitment of Ebonyi State to promoting access to quality healthcare and encouraging evidence-based health practices among citizens.

“In Ebonyi State, we remain committed to promoting access to quality healthcare, supporting evidence-based interventions, and encouraging our people to embrace preventive and responsive health practices,” she added.

She also highlighted the role of the BERWO Foundation in advancing healthcare delivery and supporting vulnerable groups across the state.

“Through the BERWO Foundation, we continue to champion initiatives that improve healthcare delivery, support vulnerable populations, and promote overall wellbeing,” she said.

The First Lady further urged citizens to support healthcare professionals and uphold the value of science in safeguarding public health.

“As we celebrate this important day, I call on all citizens to work together, support healthcare professionals, and uphold the value of science in safeguarding our wellbeing. A healthier society is a stronger and more prosperous one,” she emphasized.

She concluded with a call for collective action towards a healthier future.

“Together, let us stand with science, prioritize our health, and continue to build a better future for all,” Mrs. Nwifuru stated.
