Fubara Urges Unity, Sacrifice As Christians Celebrate Easter in Rivers

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended warm Easter greetings to the people of the state, calling on them to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, reconciliation, and unity during the celebration.

In a goodwill message to mark the Easter season, the governor urged residents to emulate the example of Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the Cross, he said, brought forgiveness and reconciliation to mankind.

Fubara described Easter as a sacred period that calls for reflection and renewed commitment to promoting peace, love, and unity in society. He emphasized that the season provides an opportunity for Christians to deepen their faith and foster harmonious relationships across communities.

“As we celebrate Easter, I extend warm wishes to all Christians in Rivers State. The resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes hope, renewal, and triumph over adversity. May this season bring peace, joy, and spiritual growth to our lives,” the governor stated.

He further expressed hope that the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness would guide citizens toward building a more united and prosperous Rivers State.

The governor also commended the resilience of the Christian community and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance to the people. He called on residents to continue supporting his administration as well as that of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that sustainable progress can only be achieved through collective effort and unity of purpose.

Fubara concluded by praying that the Easter season would usher in renewed hope, joy, and lasting peace for Rivers State and Nigeria at large.
