Fubara Swears in Five Commissioners, Calls for Top Performance

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday officially sworn in five new commissioners, urging them to deliver their best in advancing the state’s development agenda.

The newly inaugurated members of the State Executive Council are Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mr. Lekue Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, following their successful screening and confirmation by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Congratulating the commissioners on their appointments, Governor Fubara highlighted that their clearance by the State Assembly, after a rigorous screening process, demonstrated both their competence and readiness for public service.
“Ordinarily, I would guide you on your responsibilities and how to operate, but that has been taken care of by the Assembly’s screening,” the governor said, noting that the scrutiny by lawmakers had effectively served as an orientation for the new appointees.

Governor Fubara expressed confidence in their ability to discharge their duties effectively, stressing that those who emerged successful had proven capable of contributing meaningfully to the administration’s development drive.

He further urged the commissioners to justify the confidence placed in them and to work diligently to accelerate progress across the state, emphasizing that his administration expects nothing short of excellence in service.
