RUMUEME, Rivers State — In a strong show of unity and allegiance, representatives of the Rumuorgwuah Community of the Oro-Ebara Clan have paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Larry Azunda Nsirim, to congratulate him on his ascension to the throne as Nyenwe-Eli of Rumueme Kingdom and to reaffirm their unwavering loyalty to his reign.
The delegation, which comprised elders, stakeholders, and community leaders, was led by the Chief of the Community, Chief Hon. Bright Otuonye. He described the monarch’s emergence as a significant milestone in the history of the kingdom and expressed gratitude to God for a peaceful transition of leadership.
Chief Otuonye noted that the visit was historic, as all four families that constitute the Rumuorgwuah Community were fully represented — a demonstration of internal unity and collective resolve. He declared that the community stands solidly behind the new Nyenwe-Eli and remains committed to supporting his leadership and the Rumueme Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers at all times.
Also speaking, Prophet Chinedu Otuonye assured the monarch of the community’s total loyalty and steadfast support. He urged the King to remain focused and undeterred by dissenting voices, emphasizing that the Rumueme Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers remains the recognized authority and anchor of leadership within the kingdom.
He recalled the community’s longstanding support for the Council, including during the reign of the late monarch, Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, and appealed for sustained inclusion of Rumuorgwuah in the affairs and developmental initiatives of the kingdom. He further commended the Council for preserving unity and stability over the years.
The Chairman of the Rumuorgwuah Community Development Committee reiterated the community’s firm backing for the new Nyenwe-Eli, stressing that Rumuorgwuah remains resolute in its commitment to the peace, growth, and overall progress of the kingdom.
Adding his voice, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Otuonye, a respected stakeholder, encouraged the monarch to remain courageous and resolute in the discharge of his duties, noting that opposition is often inevitable even when decisions are made in the best interest of the people.
In his remarks, the Chairman and Traditional Prime Minister of the Rumueme Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers expressed appreciation for the delegation’s solidarity. He commended Chief Bright Otuonye for promoting improved unity and cooperation within the Rumuorgwuah Community, describing the development as vital to the stability of the kingdom.
Responding, Nyenwe-Eli Dr. Larry Azunda Nsirim thanked the people of Rumuorgwuah for their visit and show of confidence in his leadership. He assured them that with collective support and divine guidance, Rumueme Kingdom would overcome its present challenges.
The monarch called on all communities across the kingdom to embrace peace and collaboration, stressing that unity remains the bedrock of prosperity and sustainable development. He further assured that no community would be sidelined in ongoing efforts to restore peace, stability, and inclusive growth throughout the kingdom.
