Rivers State Honours Justice Daniel-Kalio at Valedictory Court Session and Book Launch

The Rivers State Government on Tuesday joined the legal community in celebrating the retirement of Hon. Justice Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio at a solemn Valedictory Court Session and Book Launch held at the Court of Appeal of Nigeria, Port Harcourt Division, Moscow Road.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Ngozi Ordu, who delivered the Governor’s goodwill message and paid glowing tribute to the retiring jurist for his exemplary service to the judiciary.

The ceremony attracted eminent jurists, senior advocates, government officials, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to honour Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio for his distinguished and impactful career on the bench.

In the goodwill message, the Governor described Justice Daniel-Kalio as a man of integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to justice. He noted that the retired Justice’s contributions to the development of jurisprudence and the administration of justice in Rivers State, Nigeria, and beyond remain invaluable and enduring.

According to the message delivered by the Deputy Governor, the valedictory session was not merely a formal retirement ceremony but a celebration of a legacy built on excellence, wisdom, and selfless service to humanity. Justice Daniel-Kalio was commended for his intellectual depth, sound judgments, and steadfast dedication to upholding the rule of law.

As he bows out of active judicial service, the Rivers State Government expressed confidence that his wealth of experience would continue to inspire generations within and beyond the legal profession.

The Governor also extended warm congratulations to his wife, Dr. Blessing, and their children for their steadfast support throughout his remarkable journey in public service.
