Okrika Youths Celebrate Retirement of Hon. Justice Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio from Court of Appeal
The youths of Okrika have extended warm congratulations to Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio, following his retirement from the Court of Appeal of Nigeria, describing his judicial career as one marked by honour, integrity and an unwavering commitment to justice.
In a goodwill message signed by Comrade Dagogo Achese, Coordinator of the Citizens’ Youth Movement For Sim (Okrika Chapter), the youth body praised the retired jurist for his decades of meritorious service to the nation and the judiciary. They noted that Justice Daniel-Kalio’s time on the bench was characterised by profound legal insight, sound reasoning and principled judgments that strengthened public confidence in the rule of law.
According to the statement, his Lordship’s contributions to the development of jurisprudence have left a lasting imprint not only in Rivers State but across Nigeria. The youths particularly commended his dedication to fairness, discipline and judicial excellence, virtues they said earned him widespread respect within legal circles and beyond.
“As he bows out of active judicial service, we celebrate a legacy built on diligence, integrity and courage,” the statement read. “His Lordship has served humanity with distinction and has brought pride to Okrika and Rivers State.”
The group further expressed prayers for a fulfilling and peaceful retirement, wishing the retired Justice continued good health and divine grace as he embarks on a new chapter of life.
Justice Daniel-Kalio’s retirement marks the end of an illustrious era on the appellate bench, with many in the legal community acknowledging his enduring impact on the administration of justice in Nigeria.
