A member of the Ebonyi State Board of Internal Revenue, Nwedu Abraham Nwedu, has showered glowing tributes on Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, describing him as “the hope of the hopeless, a father to the fatherless, and a destiny-lifter whose emergence came at the right time in Ebonyi’s history.”
In a statement made available to journalists, Nwedu said the administration of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has redefined governance through its people-focused policies anchored on the People’s Charter of Needs.
According to him, what began as a campaign mantra has evolved into a practical blueprint that is delivering tangible dividends across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
He noted that the governor’s interventions have revived abandoned industries, empowered thousands of youths with grants and support initiatives, and embarked on massive infrastructure upgrades that are reconnecting communities and stimulating economic growth. Roads once described as impassable, he said, are now accessible, easing transportation challenges and enhancing commerce in both rural and urban areas.
Nwedu further commended the governor for clearing decades-old gratuity backlogs, describing the move as a bold step that restored dignity and hope to retired civil servants. “For many retirees, this administration has turned long years of waiting into renewed confidence in government,” he said.
The Revenue Board member also highlighted the governor’s scholarship programme, which he said has provided indigent students with access to quality education, securing a brighter future for the next generation of Ebonyi citizens.
In the health sector, Nwedu pointed to the recruitment of nearly 200 health workers and the upgrade of hospitals with modern equipment and essential drugs reportedly valued at over ₦10 billion. He also referenced the rollout of a State Health Insurance Scheme aimed at expanding affordable healthcare coverage, alongside the introduction of the One Health Initiative to safeguard both human and animal health.
“These are not mere statistics; they represent lives saved, families supported, and communities strengthened,” he stated.
He added that the employment of thousands of civil servants has reduced unemployment, reinvigorated the public service, and strengthened governance structures across the state.
Describing Governor Nwifuru as “a divine intervention for a generation seeking genuine transformation,” Nwedu said Ebonyi State is witnessing a rebirth driven by visionary leadership and compassion.
“Our governor is not just leading; he is building for generations. His heart beats for the people, and his hands are shaping the future of Ebonyi State,” Nwedu concluded, reaffirming his unwavering support for the administration.
