GIFA @ 2: Governor Umo Eno Celebrates Legacy of Compassion, Commends Helen Obareki

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, has commemorated the second anniversary of the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), describing it as a shining testament to service, sacrifice, and sustained impact across the state.

In a goodwill message marking the milestone, the Governor noted that the anniversary coincides with the birthday of his late wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, founder of GIFA, whose life and vision continue to inspire thousands.

“Today marks the second anniversary of the Golden Initiative For All, a signature pet project founded by my dear wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, whose birthday we also remember with love and gratitude,” the Governor stated.
While acknowledging the pain of her passing, Pastor Eno emphasized that her abiding faith, compassion, and dedication to humanity remain alive through the initiative she established. He described GIFA as a vehicle that embodies the ideals of altruism and purposeful service.

Over the past two years, GIFA has recorded remarkable achievements across its eight thematic areas, including maternal and child healthcare, women empowerment, literacy enhancement, gender-based violence response and prevention, and support for vulnerable groups.

Governor Eno commended the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Noble Lady (Mrs.) Helen Eno Obareki, for demonstrating resilience, commitment, and passion in sustaining and expanding the vision.

“I celebrate and commend you for stepping into this role with strength and purpose. I am eminently proud of the work you and your team are doing in upholding the foundational ideals of this great initiative,” he said.

The Governor also expressed appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for her mentorship and support over the past two years, as well as to the Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum, GIFA partners, and the people of Akwa Ibom State for their solidarity and prayers.

Describing the statistics of impact recorded within two years as “staggering,” Pastor Eno assured continued government support to ensure that GIFA achieves even greater milestones in the years ahead.

“GIFA at two is a testament to service, sacrifice, and measurable impact. We will continue to honour that commitment and encourage even more golden achievements in the years to come,” he affirmed.

He concluded by congratulating the GIFA team on the milestone and expressing optimism for “more golden years ahead.”
