Wike Takes Thank-You Tour to Omoku, Lauds ONELGA for Support, Calls for Unity and Sustained Development

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, on Friday visited Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), as part of his ongoing Thank You tour of Local Government Areas in Rivers State.

The visit was aimed at expressing appreciation to the people of the area for their overwhelming support, loyalty, and contributions to his political journey and leadership successes over the years. The former Rivers State Governor was received by a large crowd of supporters, traditional rulers, political leaders, youths, women groups, and party faithful, who thronged the venue to welcome him.

Speaking during the event, Wike thanked the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni for standing firm with him and his political family, describing their support as instrumental to the achievements recorded during his tenure as governor of Rivers State. He noted that his presence in Omoku was to personally acknowledge their sacrifices and reaffirm his enduring bond with the grassroots.

The FCT Minister emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and collective responsibility in driving development at both the state and national levels. He urged residents to continue to support the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stressing that sustained cooperation between the people and government remains key to delivering democratic dividends.

Wike also reassured the people that despite his current assignment at the federal level, Rivers State would always remain close to his heart. He pledged to continue working with stakeholders to ensure the state maintains its position as a leading force in governance, infrastructure development, and political relevance in Nigeria.

In their goodwill messages, community leaders and political stakeholders from ONELGA praised Wike for his transformational leadership style, infrastructural achievements, and strong advocacy for Rivers State at the national level.
