Saraki Applauds Daughter at Launch of Built For Her Foundation, Backs Scholarships for Female Doctors
Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has expressed profound pride in his daughter, Dr. Teniola Saraki, following the official launch of the Built For Her Foundation in Abuja, an initiative aimed at supporting aspiring female medical doctors through targeted scholarships.
In a statement on Thursday, Saraki described the foundation as a continuation of a long-standing family legacy of service, noting that Dr. Teniola represents the third generation of medical doctors in the Saraki family.
“I am incredibly proud of my daughter, Dr. Teniola, as she launched her Built For Her Foundation today in Abuja,” Saraki said. “She carries a legacy of service, and I am genuinely moved that she has chosen to fulfil that legacy by widening the path for aspiring female doctors to complete their education.”
The Built For Her Foundation is designed to address barriers facing young women pursuing careers in medicine, with a focus on providing scholarships and mentorship to ensure academic completion and professional growth.
Saraki also commended his children, Ola and Ayo, for embodying values of responsibility and service to society.
“I take pride in the values that Ola and Ayo are living out—first as their father, but mostly as someone who deeply believes that progress is built when we take responsibility for one another,” he added.
The launch event in Abuja attracted stakeholders from the health, education, and development sectors, who praised the initiative as a timely intervention in strengthening female representation in Nigeria’s healthcare workforce.
Saraki concluded by congratulating the founders and reaffirming his support for initiatives that promote inclusive development and access to education.
