“I Acknowledge the Hand of God in My Emergence as Governor” — Diri
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has reaffirmed his deep gratitude to God for his emergence as governor, describing divine intervention as central to his political journey and leadership mandate.
Governor Diri made this statement on Friday when he attended the annual crusade of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement at the church’s campground in Mgbidi, Oru-West Local Government Area of Imo State.
The governor explained that his presence at the crusade was in fulfillment of a personal and spiritual resolve to continually acknowledge the hand of God in his victory at the 2020 Bayelsa State governorship election. He noted that since assuming office, he has remained committed to honouring this obligation by attending the annual crusade.
According to him, being in the presence of God brings renewed strength, reflection, and reassurance, especially amid the responsibilities of leadership. He expressed appreciation to members of the congregation for the warm reception accorded him during the event.
Governor Diri also extended special gratitude to the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, for his consistent prayers and spiritual support for the success of his administration and the peace and development of Bayelsa State.
He emphasized that prayer remains vital to good governance, unity, and sustainable development, adding that his government will continue to uphold values of faith, service, and accountability in the discharge of its duties to the people of Bayelsa State.
