The former Caretaker Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Orolosama Peter Amachree has disclosed that Governor Fubara does not play politics with Rivers lives.
Whiile speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt today, Amachree mentioned that he distributed ₦140 million to supporters of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, citing the governor’s commitment to people-centered leadership and grassroots empowerment.
Amachree described Governor Fubara as “a leader per excellence” who believes in uplifting the people through truth, service, and inclusive governance. According to him, the financial support was part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and sustain momentum for development across communities.
While reaffirming support for the governor, Amachree criticized ongoing moves by some political actors to initiate an impeachment process against Governor Fubara, describing such efforts as distractions that do not serve the interests of Rivers people.
“While we are focused on empowering our people and consolidating grassroots support, others are preoccupied with plotting a doomed impeachment,” he said. “History will remember those who stood for progress and those who chose politics of distraction.”
He urged stakeholders to prioritize peace, stability, and development, noting that Governor Fubara remains committed to governance that directly impacts lives rather than engaging in divisive politics.
Amachree concluded by calling on Rivers residents to remain steadfast in supporting leadership that delivers tangible benefits and promotes unity across the state.
