Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has extended his New Year goodwill message to the people of the state, praying for divine blessings, protection, and greater opportunities in 2026.
In a statement released to mark the beginning of the New Year, Governor Diri expressed optimism for a prosperous future, calling on God to open new doors of opportunities for the people and to continually bless Bayelsa State.
The governor also formally released the Bayelsa State Covenant Verse for 2026, drawn from the Holy Bible, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, which reads: “But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.”
According to him, the verse serves as a spiritual anchor for the state in the New Year, symbolising God’s faithfulness, protection, and assurance of stability amid challenges.
Governor Diri urged Bayelsans to remain steadfast, united, and hopeful, assuring that his administration remains committed to policies and programmes that will promote development, peace, and shared prosperity across the state.
The message was signed by the governor, reaffirming his confidence that 2026 will usher in greater progress and renewed blessings for Bayelsa State and its people.
