Fubara Donates 500 Bags of Rice to Orphans, Less Privileged Children
Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has donated 500 bags of rice to orphans and less privileged children under the care of the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, as part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to social welfare and inclusive governance.
Governor Fubara, who made the donation in Port Harcourt, said the gesture reflects his government’s resolve to support vulnerable groups and partner credible faith-based organisations that have consistently demonstrated compassion and accountability in humanitarian services.
According to the Governor, caring for orphans and less privileged children is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration between government, religious bodies and well-meaning individuals. He commended Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere and Omega Power Ministries for their sustained efforts in providing shelter, education, healthcare and moral guidance to thousands of indigent children across Rivers State and beyond.
“Government alone cannot address all the social challenges in our society. This is why we must continue to support institutions like Omega Power Ministries that have shown genuine commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable among us,” Fubara said. He added that his
administration would continue to prioritise policies and interventions that promote compassion, equity and human dignity.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the children, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere expressed profound gratitude to Governor Fubara for the timely support, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and people-oriented leadership. He assured that the rice would be judiciously distributed to benefit orphans and less privileged children under the ministry’s care.
The event attracted government officials, clergy and beneficiaries, who lauded the Governor’s gesture as a practical example of governance with a human face and a reaffirmation of his commitment to the welfare of the downtrodden in Rivers State.
