Atiku Welcomes Peter Obi to ADC, Says Coalition Will Build Strong Opposition and Viable Alternative Government
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described the entry of Mr. Peter Obi into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a historic moment in the evolution of political coalitions in Nigeria.
In a statement on Tuesday, Atiku said the official declaration of Obi, whom he described as his brother and associate, into the ADC marks a significant step towards building a formidable opposition capable of offering Nigerians a credible alternative government.
He formally welcomed Obi into the party and expressed optimism about a strong and productive working relationship aimed at strengthening democracy, promoting good governance, and ensuring prosperity and peace for the country.
According to Atiku, the growing ADC coalition is positioning itself as a unifying platform for patriots committed to rescuing Nigeria from its current challenges.
“As the ADC coalition train departs Enugu, the capital of the South-East, I hope this development will inspire other well-meaning Nigerians across the country to join the movement as it heads in their respective directions,” he said.
Atiku noted that the coalition is driven by a shared vision to build a virile opposition that will ultimately earn the trust of Nigerians and form a government that truly serves the people.
